Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to attend the FAAN Teen Summit?
The registration fee is $25 per person. Attendees are responsible for their own transportation, lodging, and meals.
Can siblings or friends of teens with food allergies attend the FAAN Teen Summit?
Yes. This will be the first year that siblings are invited to attend, but they must be siblings between the ages of 11 and 20. No friends are allowed as space is limited at the FAAN Teen Summit, and is therefore reserved for teens with food allergies, their siblings, and their parents. Of course, if your teen friend has a food allergy, they can register to attend.
Will meals be provided?
FAAN does not provide any meals at its Teen Summit. Parents or guardians are responsible for all of their teen’s meals (see hotel information for information about local grocery stores). Meal breaks for teens and parents will be at the same time.
What is the hotel reservation code?
The hotel reservation code is “Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network”. This code alerts the hotel that you are attending the FAAN Teen Summit, and gives you access to a discounted rate if your reservation is placed by Friday, Sept. 24 at 5:00 p.m. EST.
How do I get a refrigerator and/or microwave in my hotel room, and how much do they cost?
When you register for the Teen Summit, make sure to sign up for a refrigerator and/or microwave. Refrigerators are $15 per night, and microwaves are $15 for the entire stay. For example, if you stay at the hotel from Friday through Sunday and get both a refrigerator and microwave, the fee is $45. FAAN is handling the reservations for refrigerators and microwaves as a part of your event registration. The hotel will deliver them to your room, and the fees for the appliances will be included on your hotel bill.
Is there any additional paperwork I need to complete?
A separate personal release form needs to be completed for everyone attending the event, including parents, teens, and siblings. The personal release will be provided with your registration confirmation. This allows FAAN to take pictures throughout the weekend. FAAN must receive all signed personal releases by Friday, Oct. 8 at 5:00 p.m. The personal release must be received in advance of attending the event, and confirms attendance.
