Meet Caitlin

Age: 15
Allergic to: peanuts, tree nuts
Favorite actress and actor: Reese Witherspoon, Russell Crowe
Loves:volleyball, track

What advice she would give to others with food allergies:
“One of the most important things to do when dealing with a food allergy is to be very open and honest about your allergies with all the people in your life: friends, teachers, and so on. Tell them what makes you feel comfortable or uncomfortable. Don’t be afraid to say that you don’t want to sit at an unclean lunch table or eat at a different restaurant because you are worried for your safety. Chances are the people with you will be more than happy to help. Safety is more important than being caught in a dangerous situation because you were too shy to say anything.”
